It seems like her definition of "better" is entirely based on "made of leather" and "can be repaired." There are a lot of things about shoes that can be worse even if they're made of leather and not glued ...

"13 months" seems like dooming. Republicans are not inhuman beings of infinite will. The narrative was against them and imo cracks were starting to show. It was not a good time for a "cave" because what's the message now? Oh Democrats were holding the govt shut and finally relented for no reason?

Also this is a pretty direct consequence of the tariffs that are new this year? Not an indication of any long-term trend

"moderating on guns" can't mean "no gun control" -- that's not the moderate stance. But actual moderate reforms like licensing and registration are framed as equivalent to confiscation by pro-gun extremists

I see the main downside is they will likely be enshittification accelerants. But they're not unique in that aspect.
