Got back on it after a couple of days too busy for ficcing. I'm settling in for a long haul, but I'm considering pausing to write a shortie or two for Keep Fandom Weird before the first round up of 9/30. I'm bad at doing multiple WsIP at once, but no way is this one done in time.

I guess it's just fic production time in chez alchemy. I fear this one is actually 40k but I didn't want to put that as my goal lol. This is the story I *meant* to write when the Exorcist one came out instead. Let's just hope it all goes as well as it did tonight.

Word count estimate of 12,000 was pretty dead on.
I had feared this story would be 20,000+. That was one of the many reasons I resisted writing it, but in the end it spoke to me too insistently to ignore. Glad to get it to a manageable length. I salute the three people who will read it.

Got to the end but still not quite done. I needed some time to figure out the logistics of the final scene, I skipped the sexy bit so I could get through to the end, and I rewatched a couple eps to get some canon facts straight. Plus I'm still sick. Anyway: all that's left is a little sex & editing.

Completed a really hard scene today, so that's great. Only about 5 more scenes to go, so I'm hopeful I can finish this within the week AND that it won't grow on me uncontrollably. I'm now anticipating word count around 12,000.

This morning I sat down to start my eagerly anticipated spite fic, so naturally this happened on my stalled Exorcist darkfic exactly no one is going to read. I've got a real knack for making excellent use of my time.

I couldn’t get this East of the Sun West of the Moon fic off the ground for the fairy tale bang, but for Nile Week 2025 I realized I could at least make the art. This was a 7-hour endeavor over 2 nights, the most ambitious paper art I've ever attempted, and I'm really pleased with the results.

I couldn’t get this East of the Sun West of the Moon fic off the ground for the fairy tale bang, but for Nile Week 2025 I realized I could at least make the art. This was a 7-hour endeavor over 2 nights, the most ambitious paper art I've ever attempted, and I'm really pleased with the results.
Okay, I have tomorrow, Saturday, and like half of Sunday to complete this. Since there are still outstanding pinch hits I can maybe get an extension for a day or two. Hopefully now that I've finally started and like what I've got down, it'll come quicker and I won't need to resort to that.
