Ōwhango School spent a day clearing litter across 3+ hectares at Happy Valley as part of our annual refuse recovery. The rangatahi also learned about geology, volcanic processes, and native species. This is true care for the maunga, together.

Before the snow falls, we’re laying the foundation. Over 1,700 bristle tussocks have arrived to help re-establish plant colonies at Whakapapa. Grown from seeds hand-collected within the ski area, this effort involves local schools and aims to nurture the land for future generations.

Whakapapa is set to add 10 new snow guns to enhance snowmaking across Waterfall, Hut Flat, and Rockgarden for Winter 2025. This upgrade will improve snow reliability, open more terrain, and extend the season. More info: whakapapa.com/our-company/news

Behind the scenes, our maintenance crew is hard at work refurbishing the Valley T-bar to ensure it's ready for winter. The process includes dropping the haul rope, replacing crossheads, servicing assemblies, and installing a new haul rope. All set for action this July! #WinterWorthWaitingFor
