I started working in the seismology lab at the University of Washington in late March 1980 as the lab was being inundated with data from the many pre-eruption earthquakes. Later that summer, I was hired by the USGS and worked with earthquake data thru much of the 1980s. It was an exciting time!

I’m doing the same thing. Taking a photo and including a short write-up of provenance. If I have a photo of the item in my parents’ or grandparents’ house , I’ll include that too. My folder of these write-ups is called ‘Family Things’ and I’ll make sure my kids have a copy

Anyone else love The Happy Hollisters? I was probably about 7 or 8 when I discovered this series at our town library. This one was my favorite in the series
