Greeley (mygreeley.com) is frontier town set up as an experimental utopian farming community based on seven principles (faith, family, education, irrigation, temperance, agriculture, home) in 1869, with the backing of the New York Tribune's editor Horace Greeley, who popularized the phrase "Go West, young man". The city of about 110,000 remains strong in its agricultural roots but also modern in its culture. Its history boasts the initiation of water laws of the western US, one of the oldest orchestras west of the Mississippi River (1911), two POW camps (Germans and Italians), and one of the first radio stations in the US that began broadcasting in 1922.

The Vegetation Classification Working Group (VCWG) is a part of the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS), focused on enhancing the understanding and development of vegetation classification worldwide. Our mission is to connect ecologists working on vegetation classification at various levels – from local communities to global ecosystems – and to promote collaborative efforts in this field.
