United States citizen here and I say to my Canadian neighbors that you can boo us all you want because we deserve every inch of it. Never have I felt such shame.

It’s possible to be cynical without giving up. There might be people who are positioned to do something, but so far I haven’t seen them do anything other than actions that can be easily countered or ignored.
