BREAKING: Australia’s parliament has passed new laws requiring employers to set gender equality targets.

Under the world-leading reform which passed the Senate late last night, large employers with 500 or more employees will be required to set 3 targets, including at least 1 numeric target.

The latest round of employer gender pay gaps published by WGEA show there’s still a long road ahead to end the gender pay gap.

In fact, 5,347 employers have a gender pay gap that favours men.

1,584 have a neutral gender pay gap, and 474 employers have a gender pay gap that favours women.
