I thought the same thing at first. Have you read the lawsuit paperwork? The doc says Blake was sticking to the original marketing plan. Justin and his PR team went off script to paint himself in a better light. If this is true, he was using these issues as fodder for his own selfish purposes.

The U.S has stricter rules on labeling ingredients, so the UK may not have every ingredient listed. Also, some ingredients are listed under different names in Europe.
