Alan is besotted with his Black collared barbets. So much so that he designed a fly, and called it Okey Pokes (his pet name for the Barbet, and it pops it's head out the nesting hole when he calls)

Some waters are known for smaller fish, with most coming out below the 3lb mark...and then you catch a monster brown trout at just over 6lb! Just wow!

The water does not need to be crystal clear to sight fish for yellow fish in the Orange River, South Africa, just some visibility. It's awesome to place the fly and watch the fish take it. What a thrill!
