Question about that case&dissent. It seems to say that bc he is subject to a order to go take up arms &has a relationship w/the military he can be court martialed. couldnt that be construed to extend to all Males ages 18-26 because they are also subject to a order to take up arms (the draft)?

But who cares what the California Coastal Commision says. They are a state agency with no control over federal lands and activities.

it looks like BTMR is all ready to reopen, so i wonder if they are keeping it closed until a lot more work gets done on ROA/PP because hiding it from BTMR would be hard

Was featured on the Stream just now, looks like just a piece of Vulcan Felt that is cut to bend up and fill the gap

I dont really get the Chinese obsession with the thermal blankets. sure they can soemtimes make sense, but they really dont for solid rocket boosters

Because I am curious and want to understand why the admin is going after perceived enemies and on what grounds they are doing so.

Because I am curious. Also the shore of VA isn’t really where I would consider having a vacation home myself.

Then the question is why does a NY AG have property in EDVA?
October 9, 2025 at 8:06 PM
… does EDVA cover NY? Because why would they do a grand jury / charge in EDVA?

is there a meaningful legal distinction between the NG being used for Law Enforcement Operations (LEO) vs being used to protect other feds who are doing LEO? because to a layperson that seems like a very blury line

Not to mention any arms treaty should really include China. Just redoing START or SALT or INF or the like with just Russia and not including China (and maybe a lot of other states (Ind, Pak, Isr, EU)) is just silly.

Overall I find the idea BO can take over HLS and beat China flatly ridiculous given their track record and all the issues this redesign will have.
4/4 end
October 2, 2025 at 7:09 PM
3 cont. to modify their Mk1 lander quickly AND human rate it? because ASAP will love that.
4. you want complex missions? multiple landers and rendezvous is super complex. not to mention what if one lander has issues? can the others carry the astros back up? once again ASAP will LOVE it

2 cont. that has only launched ONCE and that launch being 10+ months ago with the second launch maybe soon doesnt really inspire any confidence in a reworked Mk1 lander.
3. look at the track record of CLPS landers. it isnt great. and now you are saying that the notoriously slow BO will be able

couple issues I find with the article and general idea therein.
1. Eric doesnt mention the new space suits at all. Which are also having issues and are almost certainly behind schedule. and are also needed for a landing
2. trusting blue, who has been developing a orbital class rocket since 2012

The Hill also glosses over that fact. thehill.com/homenews/adm... . really annoying that all the coverage I have seen ignores it.

Is there a reason you are using a tripod in what looks like a permanent dome instead of a pier? Other than that looks like a great set up.

Are you sure the President's Budget Request will reign? bc AIUI if there is no budget, then it is Shutdown, and if a CR, then it is whatever they had last year moded by any riders on the CR. and the President's budget request is just that... a Request that means nothing unless Congress passes it

will they actually be able / likely to get to making a ruling tonight?
September 16, 2025 at 12:18 AM
lol one would think, but i bet the law doesnt get enforced against Universal because that law was solely designed to target any BLM/LGBTQIA+ crossings or messages.
September 4, 2025 at 10:14 PM
I mean they stayed the ruling until OCTOBER to allow time for SCOTUS to weigh in. and I have no confidence that SCOTUS will let the lower courts ruling stand despite the power to impose tariffs being given to Congress in the Constitution.

and of course the safety compromised section. you know what else doesnt have a LES, airplanes which is what SpaceX want starship to be, the airplane of space. and even in rocketry there is precedent. Titan/Gemini didnt have a LES either. and rockets back then were a LOT more dangerous
August 25, 2025 at 1:40 AM
but it seems the author is still assuming they are using the main engines to land and not the smaller engines that are mounted much higher in more recent HLS renderings which would have much less impingement and dust kick up. still a issue to keep an eye on, but not as much as the author thinks
August 25, 2025 at 1:38 AM
The author rightly points out that the size of Starship HLS raises some concerns on landing, but those are manageable with prelanding data and being able to maneuver (and the elevator is safer than long ladders like on the original National Team (BO) design). The engine/dust problem is a real one
August 25, 2025 at 1:36 AM
I see both starship HLS and the space suit issue playing schedule chicken with each other for the critical path. And IF (and it is a big IF) starship works on this flight and the next couple the rate at which SpaceX can execute is a bit absurd and testing out refueling/lander should be fast enough
