To complete the thought: it's a one-way mirror but, oddly, the mirrored side is facing the new anchors, editors, and writers. The readers are on the outside, looking in, while those inside ('presenting' the news) do not see us—the real subjects of the news.

Sadly, from what I'm seeing/reading, the traditional fourth estate has already toppled. My trusted sources are increasingly small journals (such as the Nation, TNR), foreign press (such as the Guardian), and writers on substack. Corporate media is completely insulated from the public: its all 1-way.

I first saw a Hubble Deep Field photograph across room at the NM Museum of Natural History and thought it was just a "night sky". Then as I approached it I realized what I through were stars were galaxies. What little hair is left on my head still stands on end when I see these.
