@egilhagen.bsky.social You asked me about Australian weather! Heading for four days around forty degrees where we are in Melbourne. We only got over the last heatwave three days ago.

Listening to Jim Maxwell and Alan McGilvray’s grandson on ABC radio presenting the Alan McGilvray Medal for Cricketer of the Year to Pat Cummins….and what do we have on Channel 7? Filler. This is petty.

Love that? Why not Big Bird? The Windies were a sensational side… calypso cricket and good looking blokes.

My other favourite hottie was Thomson. The crowd build up with his run up at the MCG was the best.

Here’s two for one.

Reminds me of Dennis Lillie’s magnificent zapata moustache. He’s still a hunk! In fact when I think about it….all these cricket legends when I was in my twenties watching the Chappells and Rod Marsh. Botham.

Has it stopped raining at the GABBA? Which seems weird in this thread about the heat.

PS. Yesterday on ABC.

This is similar. It’s what we use in Australia.

A Melbourne university runs a pollen count. Well worth looking at the app which gives us life saving information. Melbourne is said to have four seasons in one day. A roaring 40C hot northerly then a rapid supercell develops, instant thunderstorm with rain/high winds - pollen carried everywhere.

And his daughter’s father in law, who will be the ambassador to France.

Listening to ABC Melbourne and a lady rang. She’d shopped at Woollies for years and now won’t go back because of the way they treat their workers. The closing para in this AGE article mentions that we care about empty shelves but we shoppers also care about people.

Elon getting angry will have zero effect on this legislation. Australia is not America. He doesn't own us like he does Trump. The fallout from this is going to be interesting. My guess is that other countries will follow.

The cool tiles.

PS. The older one has chewed plaster, paint, carpet and the wooden balastrading!

I’ve wanted to say this for a long while.

To you Elon! None of your beeswax. Having escaped the X cowpat where free speech was destructive to mental health, what happens in my country is no business of yours.

PS. Thank you Cathy Wilcox for this cartoon. ❤️
