My theory is maybe all darkners have some sort of specific frequency of darkness that determines if they can exist without turning to stone? Which could explain why Ramb still turns to stone even though hes been at the house for years AND why the castle town fountain lets darkners not turn to stone.

Yeah, its confusing since we have barely any info on how darkners actually connect to their dark worlds, although Ralsei did say that the Old Man needed a specific frequency of darkness to even manifest as a darkner and only the 1st (and 3rd) dark world of chapter 4 could even create him.

Well Ramb turns to stone because he ISN'T from the tv darkworld, at some point he even says that Kris and Asriel took him home from the computer lab, so he's just like the other Plugboys from Cyber World. I do still agree he's quite suspicious though.
