This is great and should be policy at every K-12 school imo. I teach high school (computer science btw) and phones and plugged up ears are stealing students’ minds and deeply damaging their ability to learn.

No one is saying they can’t play at all. It’s no one’s “right” to make it onto a competitive sports team. That’s ridiculous.

I think trans people should be free to use the bathroom they prefer. Full stop. Trans kids should be protected from bullying the same way every kid (of difference religions, ethnicity, culture, disability) should.

Dems should have fought back - not by digging in but offering more reasoned solutions or by not supporting this issue. Obama didn’t support gay marriage while initially campaigning but once in office (where he had power) he was able to do more.

They didn’t necessarily take the bait but if any of them dare try to back away from this very specific situation they are lambasted by their own. It is not a winning issue. Don’t believe me- I don’t really care.

First we win elections and then we can work on securing rights for all LGBTQ. Participation in publicly funded sports is not a right. Just ask the thousands of kids who get cut for a myriad of reasons every year.

I hate Trump. We (Dems) lost in due to several reasons- most notably the failure to go through a robust nominating process for a new candidate but also clumsily walking right into this fringe faux culture war issue that effects a minuscule number of people. It lacks reason and strategy for winning.
