Most vodka is not made from potatoes.
French winter wheat is by far the most popular base for vodka, but it can technically be made from anything that has enough starches or sugars.
Early in its history, the most popular base was sugar beets.

Hot take: The standard specs for a negroni are wrong.
Instead of 1:1:1 try
1.5 gin
.75 sweet vermouth
.75 red bitter
It's much more balanced and not overwhelmingly sweet. This way, the bitter highlights the flavors of the gin rather than completely drowning them out.

A good tuna melt is my favorite post-holiday lunch, when you need something light and fresh, but still need to scratch that diner food itch.
Just don't forget the salad part of the tuna salad, nobody wants a hot cat food sandwich.

Mezcal is the umbrella term for anything distilled from agave.
Which means technically your favorite mezcal can, in fact, be tequila.

An Old Fashioned isn't a specific cocktail but a way of ordering a spirit, with sugar and bitters.
Which means you can order an old fashioned with brandy, rum, or even gin!
