Great to see Benson skating with the team again (and not in a no-contact sweater?) What's the latest word on when he might get back in the lineup?

And every NWSL game must be broadcast (in English) by a Scottish announcer - you cannae understand half of what they say but they say it with great passion and excitement!

Recall that new IRS rule that churches can endorse candidates "from the pulpit" without sacrificing their non-profit status? That the Republicans thought would help protect their right-wing pastors (who were doing it anyway)? I can imagine a lot of Catholic priests endorsing D candidates in 2026.

Is something going on with Alex Lyon?

Given Patel's wide-eyed, seemingly insane gaze (and indisputably insane actions), I sort of wonder if his girlfriend needs FBI protection from HIM.

Thank you for posting on Bluesky (in addition to the Platform Which Must Not Be Named)!

92 yard drive to end the half would be great for his confidence - make it so, Josh!

Thank you!

I'm looking forward to the day I'm in the ambulance with a bone sticking out of my leg after being hit by a car and the EMT hands me an iPad with my options for emergency/urgent care/rub dirt in the wound and man up healthcare, so I can be an informed consumer. Fuck these Republicans.

I did not have "Keon Coleman healthy scratch" on my Bills Bingo card. I'm assuming he is "healthy"? Or is this some late injury? Glad to see Taron Johnson AND Cam Lewis both active.

Watched the game today with my Riveters scarf - will always love the Thorns despite having moved 1,500 miles from Portland four years ago (after nine years as a season ticket holder in the North End). So impressed with the Thorns for making it to the semi-finals with so many injuries/absences!

How much more clear did it need to be? Letting people starve for another week to make it a little more clear -- when it WAS clear already was the GOP was willing to increase suffering and not negotiate -- seems like a bad trade-off. I've moved from anger to being OK that SNAP is funded for a year.

Well, he has another whole Wing of the White House that he could yet demolish for another ballroom or maybe an indoor pool with real sand beaches and young girls (the "Epstein Pool House").

Mamdani already improving the quality of life in NYC (he also got a million rich assholes to leave - opening up hundreds of thousands of places to live - which will cut rents in half!)

The posts are furious at the wrong people - the end of subsidies is 100% on the Republicans. And the Republicans were willing to let lots of people suffer and increase suffering, forever. No one has answered: how was continuing this shutdown going to get Republicans to vote to extend subsidies?
November 11, 2025 at 6:39 PM
I'm drawn to the Democrats' position on magnets.
November 11, 2025 at 6:02 PM
What does "kicking Lucy" look like in real life? How precisely were the Democrats going to get a legislative victory on ACA subsidies, when the Republicans made it clear that they would not negotiate and would keep on hurting people and increasing the pain (by cutting off SNAP benefits for example)?
November 11, 2025 at 5:44 PM
Maybe you could explain how Chuck Schumer was going to get 13 Republican Senators to vote to extend the subsidies, when the Republicans refused to negotiate over this (and the Republicans don't care about inflicting ongoing/increasing pain)? This is the fucking Republicans' fault, not Schumer's.

And Colorado is a pure-mail-vote state. Most (I think 34) states require mail/absentee ballots by the close of polls on Election Day (www.vote.org/absentee-bal...). A bad Supreme Court decision would make the rule for all 50 states the same as what most do now anyway. Not a Chicken Little situation.
Absentee Ballot Deadlines - Vote.org
Absentee ballot deadlines for all 50 states. Get your ballot now. Don't miss the deadline

Marc, I support your work financially, but this post is click-bait unless you are more honest about what's at stake here and what actually would be affected by an adverse Supreme Court ruling. The way your post is written, you are just fearmongering.

People will adjust to filling out an absentee/mail ballot and dropping it off at drop-boxes if they don't fill them out in time to ensure they arrive by mail (when I lived in Oregon, the county elections office said to allow seven days). You could drop ballots at many locations including McDonald's!
November 11, 2025 at 4:20 AM
Respectfully, this isn't that important a case. If the Supremes change the rule in 16 states so that mail-in votes need to be received by Election Day, people will adjust. That's the rule for absentee voting in New Mexico, and was in OR for most of the 20+ years that OR has had pure vote-by-mail.
