Old. Retired. Kinda crotchety but loveable. Have solved all of life’s questions. 🥸
We are watching the fall of a superpower in our own lifetime orchestrated by an administration that is both unqualified and incompetent.

I don’t know why the Democrats don’t get it. Trump isn’t running again. Never mention his name again! Always say “Republican” The Republican White House. The Republican such and such bill. Tie everything Trump to the Republicans. They are what lies ahead. Let Trump bury them! Ghost Trump’s name!

Deep River, Canada today 🇨🇦(November 30). After the snow.

🇨🇦 The gales of November on Lake Superior this morning (Nov. 27). I don’t think the rest of the world realizes just how massive the Great Lakes are. Large enough for ocean sized ships to sail on and large enough to sink them. In a world of drought all fresh water.

US hubris. They think what they do is the only right way. Canadian agricultural supply management not good but massive subsidies just fine. Canadian military spending not enough. US military spending greater than all other countries combined but that’s ok. Someone’s gotta be wrong. 🤔 🇨🇦? 🇺🇸?

Mornin’ all. 🌅 🇨🇦 A beautiful day in the neighbourhood. Well, cloudy and cold but still. Fired up the SAD lamp for the first time. 30 minutes while scrolling. $40 online. Falls into the category of, “can’t hurt”. 😬 One a day vitamin? Copper bracelet? Can’t hurt. Inexpensive piece of mind. ❤️❤️

🇨🇦 Hot damn on a cracker, this cat has a heated steering wheel! Sat in the car while it warmed up before errands. Stuff for winter driving; heated back window, heated front window, your bum. And one for hands! Drove down the road body parts just a cookin’ away Arrived at the store medium rare. 😳

Remembrance Day 🇨🇦 My mom lived to 101. In 1944 her younger brother was killed when his plane was shot down over Holland. Just 20. Until the day she died she never was able to watch or hear a Remembrance Day service. It just hurt too much. She would just leave the room if it was on the radio or TV.

🇨🇦 There’s something about the first bit of whiteness that raises your spirits a bit. It may not even cover the brownish greyness but still. I’m not going to break into a rousing chorus of Deck the Halls but it’s amazing the power of a snowflake! Makes one want to fire up the hot chocolate.

Home. Deep River 🇨🇦 Dawn. Nov. 7. It is official. First of the season. A light dusting of snow overnight but snow nonetheless. More forecast for Sunday. 😬

Gordon Lightfoot referred in his song, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” to the gales of November. Today’s the day! Gale warnings on lakes Huron, Erie and Ontario. Wave heights 3 metres/10 feet. Photo is one taken earlier at Port Stanley, Ontario 🇨🇦 on the north shore of Lake Erie.

Home. Deep River 🇨🇦 We literally live on the edge of the wilderness. Go NE out of our backyard and there is nothing but lakes and rivers and forest for 1400 kilometres! Drive less than 3 minutes this side and there are banks, fire and police depts., supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, and, and, and.

I read that in Victorian London that there were up to 12 mail deliveries a day! 12! Each day! First delivery at 7:30 in the morning. Deliveries into the evening. And I check my mail once a week! Gotta think it’s 8-track time for regular mail. Makes me sad.
November 3, 2025 at 9:14 PM
We just have a postal box at the post office. No door to door delivery. I usually check it once or twice a week. Sometimes nothing there. Everything has its time in the sun. 8-tracks sure flamed out quickly. Horses lasted for thousands of years. Now they are just expensive pets.

Ok! Nobody leave the room! Sombody stole the daylight. One moment I was reading a book yesterday afternoon and I looked up after a bit and it was dark. Bam, just like that! Like, middle of the night dark! 😬 Sorry. My bad. Found it. Was there this morning when I woke up. Whew! ❤️

Trump went ballistic over a Canadian sponsored TV ad that highlighted Ronald Reagan’s position on the use of tariffs. The ad used accurate quotes that reflected the overall theme of the ad. Trump went crazy. Why? The answer is simple. It spoke the truth. Truth to Trump is the garlic to Dracula.
