Better angle for the sword and shield painting.
Finished up my first batch of Lychguard. These guys are my favourite Necron unit of all. In a world of planet cracking bombs and flesh melting lasers nothing is kooler to me than a robot mummy charging into battle with nothing but a sword and shield. Hell yeah.

Wasn't going to buy *anything* today but my LGS had a 20 percent discount on Warhammer minis so it was kind of hard to pass up. Realized my current collection was pretty lacking in the "big boys" department outside the C'tan I havent built yet. So I got two of the best/koolest "tanks" in Necrons.

Wasn't going to buy *anything* today but my LGS had a 20 percent discount on Warhammer minis so it was kind of hard to pass up. Realized my current collection was pretty lacking in the "big boys" department outside the C'tan I havent built yet. So I got two of the best/koolest "tanks" in Necrons.
Finished my five man Necron Immortal squad. Did not enjoy assembling these things, contact points were weak and thin, legs just sit in a bowl in the bottom of the chest. I never want to do these again (I have another box of them).

I present Imotekh the Stormlord. Mostly easy to paint (relatively), but a few fiddly bits, like the regal shendyt at the front and the shoulder pauldrons, really sucked to attach/paint. I'm really proud of this one, i think it's my best looking paint job so far. His cape is really fucking kool.

Shoutout to @amandak6647.bsky.social for selling me her Necron battleforce box from a few years ago. This'll be the last thing I need to have a fieldable army. And that Void Dragon is sick as hell, can't wait to work on that one. Also more Lychguard.

Seen a lot of people rec this one so I bought myself a Tabletop Stronghold magcase for my Warhammer minis. Just finished putting it together (fun little construction project on its own). Feels really durable and lighter than I thought it'd be. Pretty kool if you ask me.

Might be hard to see but I've been working on painting the bases of my models. Little Scarab's turned out pretty well i think. Astrogranite on the base, Nuln Oil to shade it darker and a little white highlighting (which isnt showing up here).

Finished painting my Technomancer. Pretty kool model. Learned to do some color mixing to get the sort of "dark green with visible black undertones" on the Staff of Light, beard regalia and the shendyt at the front. White death-mask came out overly cakey unfortunately, lost definition. Satisfied.

Finished painting my Necron Overlord with Translocation Shroud. This thing has a kool fuckin sculpt with digital effect to look like she's teleporting in and has half her legs missing. Couldn't figure out how to gradient highlight so I just stippled some lighter green to look "transporter beam"-y

The Canoptek Doomstalker was an absolute nightmare. Lots of parallel lines and narrow gaps made it difficult to paint, but I correctly decided to sub-assemble and paint the legs and head sections separately. I like his cute face. Another one I'm really proud of how the colours turned out on.

Necron Overlord with Tachyon Arrow and Overlord's Blade. I really like how this one turned out, I think my colour scheme looks really sick in particular on this model with how balanced it came out.

Took a few weeks but I finally finished painting my Necrons Combat Patrol. This was a lot of effort, frustrating at times, and I learned a lot with my first time painting miniatures - lots of fun and I enjoyed the process being the most important. Close up shots of new stuff in the thread.

I am nearly finished painting my Necron Combat Patrol but this motherfucking Doomstalker has been like half of the entire effort on its own. Been slowly subassembling and painting parts. All those nooks and crannies and small gaps between spindly bits is atrocious.

I am nearly finished painting my Necron Combat Patrol but this motherfucking Doomstalker has been like half of the entire effort on its own. Been slowly subassembling and painting parts. All those nooks and crannies and small gaps between spindly bits is atrocious.

Went to my LGS and sold 95% of my Magic the Gathering cards for a frankly embarrassing amount of money and cashed out of the hobby forever (finally. sigh of relief. im glad to have it gone). Decided to use a good portion as store credit and bought the rest of my Necron 1000 point list.

Not the best pictures but I've finished painting the Necron Warriors and the scarabs. Didn't quite turn out how I wanted. I'm not feeling super confident in them tbh.

I spent yesterday and this morning assembling my Necron Warriors and the scarabs. Gave them a base coat then drybrushed them all silver. They look really kool and shiny and fuckin metal but sadly the photo doesn't really do em justice. Gonna give them some proper colour tomorrow.

Went to the record store today and actually got an incredible haul. They've expanded their metal/punk section and clearly restocked it cause there was stuff I didn't even buy (19 for a Blind Guardian remaster's a bit much). Particularly excited about the Lacuna Coil finds.

also important to note the original lineup had even more outright nazis/known white supremacists and racists that were forced to cancel because of visa issues. and nearly all the replacement bands that a lot of us dont recognize are third rate black/war metal bands friends of the promoter
