🌖 🌞 ⛅️ A dramatic turn of events as the large cloud bank came rolling in at Fern Bluff Elementary. But the eclipse beat it and we got to see totality start! Clouds continued off and on but overall very exciting for so how dark it got. Very nice for the school+great teachers to have facilitated this!

360/Bee Caves Road, Austin interchange field trip by AGS. Theme: roadcut on the west side had differences. Springs on the west side. However, east side contains teepee structures within the Kainer Fm, evidence of sabhkas and evaporites. Possibly hydration of anhydrite causing teepees in limestone.

The kids visiting Longhorn Cavern for the first time. Ordovician Gorman Fm seems the upper sections followed lower by dolomite of the Tanyard Fm if I’m not mistaken.
