Scattered minutiae about tech, plants, St. Louis, occasionally all together
My guess is Ameren's parking lot. TIL Purina has their logo as a patio in front of their office tower.

Found this aerial photo of Laclede Town next to Harris Stowe to give better indication of the scale of what was lost thanks to wildly myopic urban planning

1936 street map found on a prior trip. I'm also being sure to buy these and repatriate them. Eventually no written record of STL past will be left outside to city limits.

I keep finding bits of St. Louis past winking back at me in out of state vintage shops. Lucas Park used to have a large pond, but otherwise amazing that view is nearly identical today. Fully intact MacArthur Bridge also cool.

What's super aggravating is Google has tied inbox categories (promotions, updates, social) to this smart features checkbox, despite the categories feature predating all the Gemini crap by over a decade. All your not-quite-spam gets dumped in your primary inbox.

Perhaps they're waiting for their secret funder's stock to bounce back enough to convince everyone the AI bubble isn't about to burst. Microsoft shown just for illustration, no idea if they're actually involved.

Sorta home grown kombucha (using donor scoby conscripted from Confluence bottle) with matchsticked ginger and Scharf Farm apples

Schweiger's Produce and Hotop, both large fruit & veggie vendors at Soulard Farmers Market whom I patronize regularly, are no-show today due to #SNAP cuts

Our society fucking demonizing tens of millions of people about to lose access to food very accurately captures EVERYTHING wrong with us

The Armory data center people went on and on about how the site could never be residential due to limited access, noise, etc. So what's the proposed residential at that exact spot on this Brickline Greenway map from last year?

CSB, for when you need that shit turned down

I'd settle for prioritizing stop sign repair before hanging a single more of these overpriced and ubiquitous parking payment signs.

Did you know downtown St. Louis already has considerable data center capacity, much of it on North Tucker like Netrality and Cybercon? With the internet backbone running underneath them? The developer wanting to buy the Armory likely just doesn't want to pay their prices.

3 cheers to the mustachioed gentleman driving the army green Willys Jeep down Park Ave at 7th flying a massive Resist flag.
