19/2/25: 2/2 - He was found in possession of two AK 1000P automatic rifles and 71 rounds of ammunition. Mabel had stolen them when he deserted the TNI in 2024.

19/2/25: 1/2 - Indonesia National Army deserter turned West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Movement separatist Aske Mabel was arrested at an undisclosed location in Yalimo Regency, Highlands Papua Province. Mabel resisted arrest and was wounded in the leg during the ensuing firefight.

14/2/25: An arson attack by West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Movement separatists destroyed the Middle School building in Wamita, Agandugume District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua Province. The school reportedly ceased operating on an unknown date and the building was abandoned.

4/4 - Mabel was due to be dismissed from the force on 10th June 2024. Following his desertion, Mabel joined the WPNLA-OPM and is believed to now lead his own unit. Polri continue aggressive searches to apprehend him.
