One week ago, voters showed up to hand democrats victories in elections across the country, including in Red states. It was a clear show of support to the Democrats who were standing firm on the government shutdown in order to protect affordable healthcare. In response, your fellow senators gave up the only leverage they had and caved to Republican demands, receiving absolutely nothing in return but a promise for a vote in the future on affordable healthcare, a vote which will almost certainly fail. 40 days of people suffering through the shutdown, for what?
I am sick and tired of democrats failing to meet
the moment and provide efficient and effective opposition to an increasingly authoritarian Republican Party. Rather he was too weak to keep control over his caucus, or orchestrated the vote to reopen the government behind closed doors its rather convenient that every Democrat that switched their vote will not be eligible for reelection for years to come, it is clear that Chuck Schumer has no business being Minority Leader.
I am writing to inquire rather or not you will be ensuring that there are consequences for failing the people by supporting a vote to remove Chuck Schumer as Minority Leader. As previously mentioned, I am sick and tired of democrats failing to raise to the moment, and I will be watching to see how you respond to this moment in particular.
