Half-baked Alaska?

I’m having flashbacks to being a ward of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, but at least I didn’t have to pay first class prices for a disc of miserable tater goop in lockup.

I'm noticing a trend where the people who can't wait to offer advice and think they're helping are recommending bonkers European product like 3.0T Audis.

The trick to keeping friends is to let them buy whatever they already wanted and then sagely nod and say, "Oh, I've heard those are really nice."

Hey now, let’s not that distract from the orange V8 Borrego five houses down from me.

I love that Iacocca defended spending on the C- and Y-bodies by saying, “Old guys like the styling.”

In other news, I guess I am an old guy.

This is the same party of Mitch McConnell, who said that Americans weren’t working because they were “flush with cash” as a result of getting a lone $1400 stimulus check over a year prior to his statement.

• The cynical '08 Caravan, which managed to have an intersection of four beige pieces of plastic in the interior that were all different shades of beige, a selection of pushrod V6s, and also needs to be held accountable for the Volkswagen Routan when Judgment Day does finally arrive

• The Nitro, but at least it gave us Consumer Reports' most honest review.

• The Caliber, with the 1.8L base model we'll just pretend doesn't exist. I still feel bad that Wendy flew me to the launch and I still couldn't find anything nice to print about it. Also directly responsible for the Jeep Compass, the execrable R/T model, and the normalization of Indiglo gauges.

• The '05 Dakota gave us the 3.7 V6, which offered V6 power with V8 mileage. Oddly enough, the 4.7 V8 did the same. It is also responsible for inflicting the Mitsubishi Raider on us
• The base Challenger with the 2.7L/4spd that was killed prior to launch, but I had to drive nonetheless

Can we just lump in just about everything post-Daimler?
• The '98 Intrepid gave us the self-sacrificing 2.7L V6
• The '01 Stratus took what was nice about the '95 JA cars and wore it down to a soft and inoffensive nub
• The '00 Neon lost all the original's whimsy while keeping the three-sped auto

I feel like gullwings are cheating, but this gets us back to at least 1954.

It’s up-armored. Look at the cage around the window frame.

The film's device of Columbo reading the book to Kevin Arnold was one of the better changes made from the book; Goldman interrupting the narrative with asides gets old a few chapters in.

I mean, it was pretty novel in 1973, but it's a trend that bloggers had beaten the life out of by 2004.

I was going to say that AI DS9 upscales exist in certain corners of the Internet but then I noticed you qualified your request with "decent", so... ah... no luck there.

It’s weird - the intro says directed by Derek Cianfrance (“Blue Valentine”, “The Place Beyond the Pines”) and written/created by Kirt Gunn, and they just got back together for the Channing Tatum film “Roofman”. But this project is nowhere on Cianfrance’s Wiki or IMDb, which lists Gunn as director.

Hell, the Seagull/Dolphin Mini made its rounds through all the EV fansites as the $10,000 EV that *it's just so unfair* we don't get, and that $10k price point was relentlessly mentioned, but when they went on sale in Mexico last year they started at an equivalent of $21k.

I know, there are some scenes where faces take on odd, James-Cameron's-4K-release effects, but trust me - the source material on the DVD was the version that was compressed for streaming. There's not a lot to work with on the original in places.
