Yes, it's very embarrassing, but you can still feel a kind of inner pride at having taken the punishment well, although of course you mustn't show that pride to others, you must remain humble and obedient and contrite. That's how I feel, anyway.

Me too but I didn't know till I was about 30. That was because of the general perception of gay men: weak, effeminate etc. I knew I wasn't like that.
