Depending on the stretch I'm going for, I'll usually where my DTR for about an hour or two and for my stealth I'll wear that anywhere from 2-4 depending on the weights.
As for pain, you want a moderate stretch. Kind of like the feeling of stretching to touch your toes. Sometimes less is more.
