He's not explaining it away, it is absolutely unacceptable. However the blame falls on the Israeli government. Not "jews".

That kind of phrasing is what racists read and run with as justification for antisemitic means

Well unfortunately you're missing a pretty crucial factor. You're assuming the current administration thinks before they act.

We certainly need stuff from Canada

Lumber especially. We have no reason to rip our national parks apart

Can't I just go pick it up…?😹
April 26, 2025 at 1:20 PM
You're literally the ones with the power to do so

You can't claim to want more, care about children while simultaneously cutting programs that help lower income children be able to be housed, eat, and access medical care

Also 5k? Wtf is 5k gonna do lol, that's not enough to even get them to preschool age

Again, my point entirely isn't about demand determining price, it's about the third party factors (i.e private entities) having a part to play in housing inflation. I'm disputing your claim that the monopoly has full and total control which, while partially true, doesn't ignore third party factors.
April 26, 2025 at 1:10 PM
At no point did I dispute that higher quantity results in lower demand meaning lower price. We've agreed on this the entire time. My point being that there is, in fact, an indirect market relationship between private entities buying up property and the monopoly uncharging
April 26, 2025 at 1:10 PM
While all these houses get bought up by the private entities the demand is technically higher which then the monopoly you're referring to has it's "justifications" to gouge more price wise claiming lower quantity when really they're there, it's just sitting vacant on some millionaires possession
April 26, 2025 at 1:45 AM
Non coordinating? Although I never said it had total control the idea of them not playing in conjunction is almost disingenuous

All the homes owned by these aren't all getting rented out, some sit idle but nonetheless are "off the market" making houses by technicality less available
April 26, 2025 at 1:45 AM
If you're going to deliberately miss the point then there's no conversation to be had
April 26, 2025 at 1:20 AM
It'd be almost counterintuitive to build more houses when the problem isn't the amount of houses

You build more houses, those same corporations and millionaires buy and rent them out making even more money to buy even more houses… and so on

Its lucrative sure, but detrimental on the lower class
