We continue our 25th anniversary I Am We series with Ann Podlozny. You saw Ann as Lady Macbeth this spring & you've seen her influence in all of our shows, as she was Artistic Director Ava Roy's earliest theatre teacher.

Ann is so many things, among them she is "We"!

In 2020, 2 podcasts - The Odyssey Audio Drama and Wonder Storytime with Alice and Friends - came out of our effort to keep creating while enduring that year's isolation and uncertainty.

"Fire, burn; and cauldron, bubble."

We're casting our best spells and cooking up a Macbeth to sink your teeth into! Spectacle and catharsis combine in this relevant reflection on fate and fortune.

This week's 'I am We' article features Dana Taylor: a dream, a dream weaver, a weaver of spells with needle & thread, a weaver of dreams in cloth & dazzlement! Dana's lent her stitching skills to many We Players shows including our previous iteration of Macbeth at Fort Point!

There are so many people that make We possible- including you! We want to introduce you to some of the amazing humans that help us perform our special brand of magic.
First up, Lauren Dietrich Chavez! She was our first Managing Director & there would hardly be a We without her. weplayers.org/i-am-we

We Players was born on the Stanford campus 25 years ago.

We couldn't be more grateful for the overwhelming support, the incredible opportunities, & deep love that we've received over these years. We are so deeply proud of the work that we've produced, the art that we've made over that time.

Fall also saw us sharing our award-winning Mother Lear at Cal Shakes. #MotherLear is a poignant play about an irascible middle-aged scholar with dementia who communicates with her caretaker daughter using only the text of King Lear as the two struggle with aging, love and their own balance of power.

This fall, we brought our new hybrid visual art & performance piece Our Lady of the Moon to the golden grasses and oak groves of Cal Shakes in Orinda, California.|
