In the wake of January 6, there was a thing January 6 researchers liked to say: the insurrection is ongoing. The response from many online was—oh, how droll, how arch, how emptily provocative.

But we meant it. We were dead serious.

Now we see that his pardons were part of a continued insurrection.
The most important part of Trump’s January 6 pardons isn’t specifically who is released from prison, but the meaning of the gesture: “Radical militias are free to act with impunity—as long as they’re loyal to Trump,” writes @alibreland.bsky.social. theatln.tc/HPRaVHMR

I have and will continue to. But you know why I say it here ? Because @bsky.app is 30m strong and growing quickly. The collective wisdom and influence of users here is far greater than any individual democrat.

I can't say it enough. Bluesky can be the influence that can counter RW media.
No offense, Mark, but you have influence and power most of us don’t. Why don’t you speak up to those in DC you have connections with? Actions speak louder than words as you well know.

Journalism needs new tools for an era of unabashed fascism, corruption, and autocracy in Washington.

“Leopard Journalism” offers a way forward that is substantive, provocative, and impactful.
On Day 2 of His Presidency, Donald Trump Fired a Bazooka Directly Into the Faces of His Voters
The first 48 hours of this presidency have been a relentless attack—by Donald Trump—on his own voters. Their priorities, their professed values, their expectations. No one in MAGA voted for all this.

I'll say again what I've said before: the long-term—not short-term—solution to the slide into fascism America is experiencing is the expansion of a liberal arts education to more Americans.

Until more Americans are media literate, digitally literate, and have a basic grasp of logic, we are screwed.

This underscores that Republicans need America to be poorly educated. They need fewer Americans to have a liberal arts education. They need fewer Americans to be able to spot their glaring fallacies. And as I wrote in my pinned report, the man most against education in America may be President Musk.
