Huh? I have a moral and professional duty to avoid any demand that my students accede to my view... of anything. But in my office outside my classroom I retain these rights. I did not give up my 1A rights to be a professor. As for my published work? THAT is all my own.

Let's be clear: Kirk may have pretended to celebrate free speech and debate. But he demonized teachers and professors who dared to defend the rights of women, trans persons, and non white citizens. His bigoted rhetoric incited violence. He may now be a MAGA martyr. But he's no hero of democracy.
