Mark your calendars if you’re Still Here at Taylor’s 2023 foreshadowing for her current performance art

We’re discussing the music mockumentary I’m Still Here (2010) next Tues, 2 yrs after she wore the Still Here hat

The film is an actor turning to hip hop like an inverse of pop star to director…

To more fully understand this modern art of the New Romantics, we're looking into the origins of feminist surrealism & dada: from 1970's lesbians to the Great War absurdists. If you can only make it to one, check out the WORKSHOP on The Dazzle Camo of Performance Art on Sunday 9 Nov from 12-2 PM PT

Performance Art has a long & queer history that often employs the ploy of Dazzle Camouflage in which you shine so bright you can hide in plain sight. We're studying how pop stars use principles of dazzle camo as a technique of performance art & how performance art itself is a tool of social change

The dial is up to 11, the shattered edges are glistening, and the façade is deceiving. Whatever you see is amplified to the zenith because "we are fighting a powerful enemy in a war of ideology."The release of Showgirl is about being so flamboyant your motive is obscured. It’s performance art time!

This film is about the maddening cost of fame and became the source text for many other great films like Mulholland Drive (2001). What is Sunset Boulevard (1950)??

We're wrapping up release week with Billy Wilder's classic in film club and screenings of Taylor's remaining late night interviews!
