So by executive order Trump has implemented a total and complete shutdown not just of #NIH et al communication but of all basic science research.

Delays in funding, however temporary, are costly. But this level of disruption for any sustained period of time will decimate universities.

NIH funding brings $3.8 BILLION to North Carolina. Losing this funding would not only hamper what we learn from NIH research that directly improves the health and well-being of people living in the US and elsewhere but would have a huge impact on the NC economy.

This semester I have had the pleasure of shepherding six students through a pilot version of a Cold Case Capstone course. Students have collaborated with a Detective Sergeant from the Michigan State Police on an active cold case file and it has been an amazing journey.
