What is it? Sexual violence is any unwanted sexual act or activity, physical or non-physical (including online), that happens without full, informed consent. Consent means freely choosing to do something without pressure, fear, manipulation, or power imbalance. If someone feels unable to stop, speak up, or leave, that is not consent. No matter when it happened, whether recently or years ago, once or many times, online or offline, support is available. What support is available? If you have experienced sexual violence, support is available. There are many services across Wales that can offer specialist support tailored to you. You can access free, confidential support and advice by contacting Live Fear Free Helpline on 0808 80 10 800. The helpline can offer a listening ear, so if you just want someone to talk to, they are there 24 hours a day, whenever you need them. What happens next? This is your journey, and support and advice will be offered at your pace. If you feel that you are ready to access more long-term support, the helpline can make a referral to one of the specialist sexual violence support services across Wales, on your behalf. Once the referral is made, you will be contacted by the support service to explain the support available and next steps. What can support include? Sexual violence services will work with you to identify your goals and needs, and can offer a range of support, including: Access to health services- such as emergency contraception Counselling Therapy – including group or Art Therapy Programmes aimed at long term recovery from trauma Access to Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA’s)

From November 2025, the £318 fee for a Person at Risk of Violence Order will be scrapped, removing this financial obstacle to safety.

From November 2025, the £318 fee for a Person at Risk of Violence (PARV) Order will be scrapped. This means victims and survivors will no longer have to pay to have their personal details, such as their name and address, removed from the Insolvency Register and the official public record, the Gazette. This change removes a financial barrier that previously stood in the way of safety and privacy for many survivors of abuse. Why this matters -Survivors of domestic abuse often experience economic abuse and financial hardship. -The previous fee placed an unfair burden on those already at risk. -Removing the charge ensures that safety and protection are not dependent on affordability. Welsh Women's Aid continues to support and advocate for all survivors to access protection and justice without barriers. Provides Live Fear Free Helpline contact details for anyone experiencing sexual violence or abuse.

Earlier this month, our fantastic team of runners took part in the iconic Cardiff Half Marathon. After months of training and fundraising, we are thrilled to share that together, they have raised an incredible £14,335.39 (including Gift Aid) 🎉
