We have relatives who lived in the area at the time of the bridge building, so we spent a few summer holidays there watching the bridge being built slowly, eventually travelling over it once completed.

How about this idea? a Repair Shop, where people can take their broken things to be repaired? (different people with different repair skills can be asked to turn up)

Turn it into a cafe/bakery/ice cream parlour with open toilets for everyone.
