Let’s talk single use coffee cups. They still exist and they still get discarded. So… why not collect them, process them and turn them into something useful? Check out wildplantpaper.etsy.com for workshops to learn the ‘how to’

Is it a true #JunkJournal if you’ve made the paper for the book from waste pumpkins and land-fill-headed supermarket flowers? Or does it need to be waste / repurposed paper? These are a mix of handmade plant paper cover & repurposed old notebook.

Mini notebooks. The cover is paper made from pure marram grass. The inner is recycled old notebooks.
Perfect for writing messages or a short poem and gifting. Only £5. (Plus postage unless you live in Swansea area)

I’ve had a happy crafting evening. The pale paper is ElliePoo paper (yep, elephants provide the raw materials and the profits from that paper fund their sanctuary).
The dark paper is made by Wild Plant Paper using plants from the Afan Valley.

In today’s news - cows on train line near Neath. The picture is of the cows being herded off the line, across the platform and out the front door.

This is a first attempt at making paper from marram grass. There was permission to harvest it, I hasten to add. It needs some work before it’s marketable, but it is showing potential for sewing as a book cover and translucent light shades.

A rare foray into the wild for me.

It was a privilege to speak at the @publicmap.bsky.social on inclusive public engagement with the title “Whose voices matter?”

I know we’re not disembodied voices. I’m still wondering what I could have used as a more accurate title. Maybe insights? Or knowledge?

Before I retire, I want to equip as many people as possible to be effective as social activists and entrepreneurs when I’m long gone.

Hence designing The Pebble Path, eight standalone modules.

Drop me a message or comment if interested. (Insurance means UK only at the moment)

For my US Christian friends (the ones who care equally about life *after* birth, truth and rights for ‘the widow and the foreigner’), today’s verse in the Bible app is apt. Jesus prayed this just before crucifixion and persecution of believers. It is still true today - in all circumstances.

Do you think I'll get away with this alt text? I popped back to you-know-where to post my blog link for those I value who haven't made it here yet. But I couldn't resist adding a sneaky comment in at the end. If the words in the image are too small to read, remember you can click Alt Text.

Making #ChapBooks with hay paper from Wild Plant Paper and #ElliePoo paper (yep, elephants from a Thai sanctuary contributed to that paper)

Looks like I am back!

Thanks to everyone who just followed me - I think I’ve followed you all back.

I’ve picked up a new hobby, embroidery paper made from plants by my husband (this is reed paper from the banks of a Welsh river).

Delighted a young talented Welsh artist, Jonathan Retallick, won two prizes and sold all his work on the opening day of exhibiting at the #Eisteddfod (also chuffed because I was his youth leader many years ago & bought - couple of originals b4 he’s too famous!)

Need some help. Is this a duck burning in hell (which some people see) or a superhero calmly waddling away from the explosion behind them?
ID: It’s an image of a yellow cartoon rubber duck wearing shades and with flames behind.

Any tips on how to make the superhero interpretation clearer?

I know my asthma control could be better. I am looking forward to hospital appointments and really hoping I’m a candidate for biologics. Brilliant app from Digital Health & Care Wales but it does make me feel scolded sometimes.
