For comparison, what it looked like before (google earth). They've literally destroyed the entire east wing.

This is what the right wing parties, Labor, Liberal, Nats and One Nation, all want. They do not want house prices to plateau and wages to catch up. The only party standing against the investor-led housing crisis getting worse is the Greens (and Vic Socialists).

This worthless coverage from SBS gives you some idea of the sheer idiocy of how the media will cover this horrific meeting, but also - "opposite sides of the political spectrum"? Both hate the left. Both love government secrecy and crushing protests. Both put industry over the environment.

Very sad to realise this about @markhamillofficial.bsky.social - after making a point to prominently support Israel in 2023, he does not seem to have since revised his position despite the genocide in Gaza. Really disappointing.

The city-based liars in the Murdoch press, and the far right Trumper nepo baby Gina Rinehart, are running a fake "bush summit" to try to pretend they speak for farmers. Anyway I love that the icon of rural Australia in the logo designed by these anti-renewables wackos is a windmill.

Look at this garbage Murdoch rag trying to whip up support in Australia for an insane war. Their top 3 stories this morning. *Iran* launches attacks? *Israelis* are afraid?

Attacking trans people isn't helping or protecting women. It's directly attacking trans women and indirectly harming cis women as well.

So time to change gyms if you're not a bigot and you were going to Fernwood. Also note not only are they excluding trans women, but they recognise "biologically born female" trans men as not women either. So really doubling down on the bigotry there. An unsafe space for anyone who's not a TERF loon.

What a day in Australian courts

You probably know about the fossil fuel lobby's "Advance Australia" that spent a fortune trying to crush the Greens. The ALP had one too - the ironically named "Better Australia" - which also spent vast sums lying about the Greens. This election was about big money trying to stop progressive policy.

If these items were so precious, why did she leave them in a falling down house for 17 years? If she couldn't afford to fix the house, why didn't she sell so someone else could, instead of leaving it empty? Good result - she's finally selling. Good on @purplepingers.bsky.social.

Iraq War summary:

- hundreds of thousands dead
- no WMD, invasion on obvious lie utterly destroyed rules-based world order
- 22 yrs later Iraq still a disaster
- current US admin angry with those who went along, so didn't even buy their support for our defence

Any shame, LNP? An apology at least?

I wonder what the Greens are more left than J on.

Look at these shameless lefties, happily showing their faces after recording yet another unpatriotic, economically irresponsible podcast about what we should be doing differently. Gross.

Mark Leibler's hate speech declaring "nothing, but nothing, is worse than those Jews... They are repulsive and revolting human beings."

Creepy Dutton should be forced to distance himself from this vicious anti-Semite. Will there be consequences for this hate speech under the new hate speech laws?

It's never going to get less embarrassing for the US how much power they've just given this deranged, desperate, grifting weirdo

"mum and dad businesses" of more than 12 people eh

How about mum and dad workers with families, lot more of those mate.
December 16, 2024 at 1:38 AM
Reminder that the only thing that protects workers is strong unions, and political parties - so not the ALP - fighting for the working class. And the working class being empowered to resist attempts to weaken them by falling for culture wars against marginalised groups.
