#ThrowbackThursday: If you know me, you know I love Noise as a genre of music, so I consider myself lucky to have caught not only the God of Noise, @merzbow.net, back in 1996 at the Pieta in Cleveland, but opening for him was Masonna as well! AMAZING show, my god
Maso Yamazaki (aka Masonna), setting up. He's got long chest-length black hair, a brown top, and brown corduroy flares, and has a battery of effects pedals on a tray around his microphone stand, as well as a couple of custom-built effects processors the size of cigarette packs on a belt round his waist. You used to be able to purchase the plans to build those effects, and I deeply regret not having done so. I guess I just would've had to learn how to solder.
