FINALS: we got there. One runaway Suzuka in the lobby with reasonable stamina so she didn’t die for my fronts to overtake and get the rod. Luckily taiki was able to take good position and narrowly outrun the late surgers. Will post the tape below 👇

DAY4: 12-8 - had my government mandated shit luck day again, but this one was the ‘not sure what happened there’ type rather than the ‘didn’t activate any skills’ type which is a different kind of frustrating lmao. 73.75% overall WR for the event feels fine but also bad given how much effort went

DAY3: 15-5 - main theme of stage 2 so far has been a lot more runaway suzukas which makes the lobby really messy, especially for the fronts. Thankfully taiki has been pretty consistent at converting on those.

runners that I had to grind so much for. Was cool of them to expedite the 1anni balance patch by 6 months to shake things up but I was all set up to exploit the ‘known’ meta so I’m a little salty about it lmao

DAY2: 16-4 - exact same record as yesterday and, as I just noticed, each of my horses won exactly the same number of races as yesterday as well lmao. Generally please with the performance, only annoying thing is that my taiki (who I high rolled on the first career) is doing better than my front

So generally it’s not but speed eater is one of those weird hybrid skills where it debuffs but also gives you extra speed so it’s basically just a speed skill with upside

DAY1: 16-4 - felt good generally, losses were broadly in the ‘unlucky break’ category rather than getting outstatted or anything strategic. Glad I brought 2 fronts as many lobbies had no other fronts or ones that were completely misbuilt dogshit (e.g. I saw a Suzuka w/no gw or a&s but with iron?)

GGT is so funny idk if you’re aware but they banned it in modern and then unbanned it for some reason and then immediately realised they fucked up and banned it again lmao. I kinda think it might actually be ok now though ironically as I don’t think modern dredge is close to good but they won’t

opportunity cost to play a soul guide lantern or something as a target for the chapter 3 tutor as you can always just crack it for a card if the gy exile isn’t relevant

and theres also a lot of really flexible stuff these days eg if you’re playing white with some creatures a card like thraben charm is great as a removal spell most of the time and then instant speed exile your gy when you need it to be or like if youre running urzas saga for example it’s very low

I’ve not played canlander but I would think that’s wise as this requires you to cast, untap with, and attack with a 5 drop to punish and a lot of graveyard decks will already have won by that point. The specific hate cards will depend on what you’re doing but definitely seems wise to run something
