I wondered about the Medi card as well. I think it’s to enable tracking of who gets what without breaching privacy rights by using the existing systems. I’m going to guess that it’s also part of a move to other kinds of welfare/Social Security.

My friends who were observing at Davos say the masks were off and the narrative was set at, ‘we have 7 years left before it’s too late, so make a f*ck-tonne of money and party while we can’.
And it felt a lot more authentic than all the greenwash years. Sadly.

I'd like to see more thinking about localisation. How much of our transported goods are doing many more miles than necessary? eg freighting food to central points for redistribution instead of directly to where people live. How will that be impacted with big weather events?

as someone living in the SI, I'd really like to see quake planning integrated with climate resilience. If AF8 scenarios are talking months of disruption, what guarantee is there of being able to fix infrastructure even in those time frames if we are also struggling with weather events?
