What an amazing evening commemorating 30 years to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin in Tel Aviv tonight. Mise en scene impressively by filmmaker Amos Gitai. Rabin still touches many because of his sincerity. He knew peace is a difficult proposition - and still went for it, no matter the risk

That Japan has the first female Prime minister before the USA has the first female President - gotta admit, I didn't see that coming....

The issues discussed at @salzburgglobal.bsky.social are typically relevant and timely. But this time around, we couldn't have chosen better. Over the next days, a group of amazing experts will take a close look at "Polarization & Violent Threats to Democratic Systems". What could be more important.

Ever been to the 'Giostra del Saracino' in Arezzo/Italy? If not, I can highly recommend it. It's quite a spectacle with lots of historic references and great horsemanship. And of course an intense dose of city rivalry 😊

Great story in @haaretzcom.bsky.social about Rabbi Yosef Blau who co-signed a letter calling on Israel to assume "its share of responsibility" for Palestinian civilians in Gaza. His answer to a critic who said this letter might fuel antisemitism: "I think not taking a stand increases antisemitism."

'All the world's a stage' took on particular meaning tonight at Schloss Leopoldskron with the performance of "Max Reinhardt rehearses Shakespeare". Directed by M. Sturminger, performed by students of the Reinhardt Seminar, brought to the world by @salzburgglobal.bsky.social 🙂. A special treat!

Immer gut zu wissen, wie Russland über Österreich denkt. Ein Vasall, der Zurufen aus Moskau zu gehorchen hat. Danke für die Klarstellung.

That one maybe? The one who's uprising was crushed by Soviet tanks in 1956?

Not sure where this will all end up. But from what could be observed during the public part of this meeting, that was a strong performance by team Europe 👏!

This was an important summit. It reminded the world that waiting for leadership in this crisis - coming from this White House - is simply a waste of time.....

Looks like a Gaza ceasefire is close. It cannot come early enough. Bring them home and let the weapons be silent!

Frankly, who cares. Won't change a thing. Russia will continue to bomb Ukraine and the US will continue to walk back its support...

Checked in with John Harvard earlier today and glad to report that he's still doing all right 🙂! As is the Harvard Club, where we had a lively debate about the status of transatlantic relations

During his hearing before the Senate the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was asked a simple question, and gave a simple answer. Thank you for your clarity, General Caine!
