Only been lightly toying with it, but have been enjoying Godot.

I think 4.1 just got released (or will soon) but most content is still being updated for 4.

Also how is Crocotile? I love that aesthetic for games.

Nice! This is great! Are you doing any blogs or writing about your progress with Godot?

That's what I'm also trying to learn right now and would love more real hands on guidance from folks using it!

I like that approach!

That's what I'm trying to get into a loop doing now with my partner.

Coming up with big ideas we would want to build, then for anything tangible, what's the smallest piece I could learn to build and be ok throwing away.

@verekia.com hosts a really great community for web game dev, and the stuff some of those nerds are pulling off is mind blowing. 🤯

I think there is a lot to benefit game dev from knowing how saas/web software works, just basic things like thread safety, IO, basic networking concepts, etc.

But making it all work with a 2d/3d front end with good style and some nice tunes?

That's my learning hurdle haha.

Mostly I'm just trying to figure out what I don't know and where I should be looking for things that others use and like.

I've been writing software for a long time, but it's all business/saas stuff, and I'm confident there is a whole world of tools that I've just never been exposed to.

I saw that, very nice post!

I just wrote about mine a few days ago! 😁

TL;DR - The JavaScript ecosystem, and specifically hot refresh are the biggest things for me. Never having to wait for the game to compile is :chefs-kiss:.
