In a lot of ways I would unwind by just feeling like I was useful to someone

I was being taught how to modify the ceiling to support the mycelial networks in the living roof. What an oddly specific dream.

A whole new axis of identity and you still use it to be soft and cute

But this kind of decay can be more subtle, instead of a stranger, or a doubt in the action itself you’re left with “I would never do that… but sometimes somehow I do”

They can decay in ownership. Very quickly a memory no matter how true we feel the events are becomes “but it doesn’t feel like mine” or “I don’t recognize myself in it”. Staring at a recording of a stranger in your body.

My memories decay in interesting ways. They can decay in continuity “I know this happened” to “Did this happen?”. A lack of trust in your experience of what was from the perspective of what is.
