As I was thinking through the cool monsters in Erdelac's stories about John Conquer, the comparison suddenly struck me: Conquer is Silver John set in Harlem 1976!

I watched four movies in September and liked them all:

Film rec: Psychomania (1973). This one mashes together several disparate horror threads in a bold way that doesn't result in a mess. Tying the freedom of youth to the freedom of death was interesting. There's also some stuff here about how knowing we will eventually die re-enforces good behavior.
