I'm a Librarian. I'm one awesome husband and father. I'm a home baker and sometimes post videos for dads to teach them how to bake. I'm a weird guy with a beard and shiny glasses that work great to fool the man at the draft board...
Noticing a bag of oranges in the library break room for days, Chef finally took them home on New Year's Eve. This morning, he made orange French toast. Tonight, we celebrate the New Year with a Whole Orange Cake. From all of us at the Weirded Beardo kitchen, may you have a very happy, healthy 2026.

Sometimes friends, even chef has to step out of the kitchen and let someone else handle breakfast. Today the fam ventured to a new diner in town called The Wild Wonderful Waffle Wagon where they serve (as the chef told us) "Home Cooked food with Waffle House service" and it was absolutely amazing!

For followers of the Leaky Roof Saga, yesterday I left for work at 8:30 as a roofing crew arrived and that same evening we had this beautiful new roof of black/blue shingles with tiny flecks of red called Williamsburg Slate. The leak is fixed and the Weirded Beardo kitchen is ready for a new bake!

While the past few days have been too hectic to make a video of the process, that didn't stop the chef from making Oatmilk pancakes with strawberries & cream cheese chips for Mother's Day breakfast, as well as Mama's favorite-- a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. A very good day to all you moms!

The country is in turmoil, but that doesn't stop West Virginia's ramp season from being in full swing and here in the Weirded Beardo kitchen, chef Joshy has been making scones and gravy and all sorts of ramp infused culinary wonders for his wife and baby. Stay safe and stay tuned for another video!

While a native Baltimorian, chef Joshy does enjoy one thing about West Virginia-- ramp season. And there's nothing better than having your own, private crop of ramps to cultivate-- especially when they're selling for $5 a dozen. Cheddar Ramp Scones and more to come on Weirded Beardo Bakes!

Here at Weirded Beardo Bakes! every March 23rd, we celebrate Joshy's birthday by letting him have the day off from baking. Today his amazing wife got him a coconut cheesecake from The Cheesecake Whisperer- a local baking legend who specializes in these creamy pieces of pure heaven. What a great day!

Naturally, Valentine's Day at the Weirded Beardo's house is full of food. This year included heart-shaped reggiano and truffle pasta in sun dried tomato pesto sauce and an old-fashioned Mahogany cake (the original red velvet) with ermine (flour) frosting-- my wife's favorite. Good vibes and love!

I've been making baking videos and expressing the only real love language I know. Today the Weirded Beardo Bakes banana bread! My wife came home and immediately asked if I was baking cookies because the house smelled so good. I wish you all good smells and good vibes in these trying times!

When baking trashcan cookies to stay sane, this Weirded Beardo reminds you to breathe. In through the nose, out through the mouth. I know it's not easy these days. Try to find something you can do- something that gives you peace or joy or a bit of both- and share that with others. You are not alone.

I started early today-cleaning the house, being a dad, making dinner, etc. I wanted to bake cookies today. A bad mental health day stood in the way. So here I stand in the kitchen, eating ice cream while the baby gets her bath. Sometimes friends and followers, you eat the bar. And sometimes, well...

As a part time stay-at-home Dad, I clean on Mondays and do everything I can to control my mental health. I am bipolar and have worked as a sous chef and baker, so I spend my days listening to podcasts, looking after my daughter, and baking. Today brings an omega-3 rich banana oatmeal breakfast cake!

On tonight's edition of Weirded Beardo Bakes! a coworker gifted me some spelt flour so, naturally, I cookified it and created very cakey, fluffy chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies that exuded a hint of nuttiness from the spelt (and a dash of nutmeg for flair!) that Wednesday absolutely loved!
