Tfw, the game you're reversing has monster functions like this: decomp.me/scratch/D7Vxg This is used for next room / door info lookups. DVD_DOOR_ADDR, the base address of the DVD 0x7F000 + offset 0x8000 marking the starting position of doors in Map_Info on disc.

Btw, would anyone find it interesting if I started posting some technical stuff when I reverse engineer games like Fatal Frame? Or even describe stuff from my own programming projects?

I don't know if that'd be a regular thing but It's a thought :)

I've often thought about Game design and how it can affect a players experience, from Genre's like horror to JRPG's. I've oftentimes found that an experience can change great just from a simple change of UI or even how a mechanic is implemented in a game.
