Finding myself appreciating Joss Whedon's writing now a days after a bender of Avengers films this Christmas. He gave birth to a generation of writers that didn't know how to do what he did well I think.

It's interesting how iconic Marvel/DC characters (many of whom were created to be symbols of an ungrounded, ahistorical American-type of idealist view of the world) can get reinterpreted by later generations

The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naïve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."
