A combination of the two?

Amazing little creatures. A mate of mine lives on the edge of a forest in NI and has a cam up for the red squirrels and pine martens. Fascinating that he's noticed that, while martens are a threat to squirrels, the reds keep out of their way, the greys don't and sometimes pay the price.

The signs were there.

For me, it's always been about something with a bit of thought behind it rather than just sponsor stickers slapped on. What about Alitalia Lancia or Apple Porsche?

Counterpoint: The Mercedes W124's total lack of interior storage and sloped dash ensures a rattle free ride and that my wife can't fill my car with junk.

They're also responsible for this little guy.

But this is the one that really got me. Not only did it dominate on track, it was a working class hero. Cliché, I know but come on, at the time a BMW or Mercedes was the reserve of yuppie bankers. As a kid in the 80s, these seemed achievable and...look at it...daft spoiler!

This irritating thing that kept getting in the way of my favourite Merc Evos because...well...daft spoiler. But I can't deny that the BMW M3 was a series defining car and went on to be the benchmark for the concept of family cars that could hassle supercars. Congrats...I suppose.

You got me thinking about cars that defined a race series. I have a few thoughts. Such as the McLaren F1 GTR. There wasn't much point driving anything else.

Indeed. Ahh...nostalgia...

I didn't realise you had a yt channel. I'll get a look this evening. Fabulous looking cars, the Ranchos. I'm just starting my "classic" journey after a life of breaking myself on bikes. Can't physically do that any more so dipping my toes in with a light resto of the other car I've always wanted.

Looks a little familiar. Only...you know...with less perfume advert and Brexit enthusiast complaining it's woke.

Duo is so frustrating for learning Gaeilge. These books are great for learning how the language works and teanglann.ie is a great dictionary/thesaurus with pronunciation in 3 dialects. Very useful! Also recommend gluais.toingaeilge.com and even bbc.co.uk/bitesize/subjects/zks78hv is pretty good.

as the wind can fairly blow up there. Storm Éowyn killed the last one. It's known colloquially as The Windy Gap which tells you everything you need to know. They must go through half a dozen flags a year as they get shredded by the weather. Or maybe Mary has a point to make. 😂

Here's an interesting one for ye @sprestonduncan.bsky.social
Our Lady of the Hill. Shrine to JC's ma, township of Slievenaboley, Dromara Hills. A local lad called Seamus had an apparition while checking his father's livestock in 1954. And just in case that, in itself, isn't quite Irish enough...
