I recently retired from teaching English in bonnie Scotland for 40 years- Of Mice and Men was my go-to text for reluctant boy readers, and my, how we all cried at the end. Just such a beautiful text.

It's magnificent- as is Our Mutual Friend. These books have everything- wonderful characters, engrossing plots... evocation of time and place indescribable, and loads of laughs!
