Agreed no way he is back next year. Along with Colapinto he has been one of the worst drivers on the grid this year.

As a Williams fan I look at that and say how do improve .8 seconds and still have a terrible finish at Mexico. I guess it shows how far off the pace they were in previous years.

It was an odd qualifying for Ferrari. Hulkenburg and Williams both looked like they had far more pace than Ferrari most of qualifying

They do not have freedom of speech like many other countries around the world so I cannot say I am entirely surprised by contractual clauses limiting criticism of the govt.

I am not suggesting they have reached that point. But there is no question that modernizing is a priority for the kingdom. That includes sport, entertainment, and better women's rights. They have fallen short on the latter. But change comes slow everywhere, especially in the Saudi.

I am really torn on this issue. No doubt there is some part of reputation laundering with these events. On the other hand we complain they arent more liberal and western. While regime does some horrible things they have also made attempts to modernize and we still complain when they do.

That should be a lot of fun. I am there on business that week and looked at staying the weekend for the race. Tickets were £425 so that it made an easy decision to skip the race.
