Trump knows he'll be prosecuted when his term ends. He's not sure if pardoning himself will actually work so he will 100% try to find a way to stay in office until the day he dies.

The only way to deal with a narcissist is to ignore them. However, you can't ignore the US President and especially now that the SCOTUS wrote him a blank check. A narcissist president is basically checkmate...at while they are still president.
