Photographer, bass player, hoarder of music in the most inconvenient formats. Smiley East Anglian chap.
One of the most remarkable episodes of a brilliant series. Marc had so many incredible stories, thanks for bringing them to our ears!

You missed one!
Mind you, so did the rest of the world in 1985.

Still have the album with the snake man poster folded inside!
Bill & Tony went on to form The Screaming Blue Messiahs, probably the best live band in the UK at the time.

Lovely to be reminded of Sprowston, which was still mostly fields around our house near Blue Boar Lane when I was a nipper.
Grandad Curtis built a number of the dwellings in Sprowston & Salhouse between the wars.
My parents and grandparents are buried in the cemetery at the church.

Magnificent.
My first proper ‘punk rock’ gig was The Killjoys at the Stuart Hall, Norwich in 1977 and he hasn’t disappointed me since!
Many happy returns, Mr Rowland.

Worth mentioning they were all designed and printed by BD Printers, Norwich in the 70s and for sale by auction on the 19th August.

Helluva good live band!
Photographed them many times.
Here they are in March 1982, tearing up the Gala Ballroom, Norwich (the night before Country classics with Wichita and Delta Dawn, judging by the poster behind).

A delightful chap to spend a few hours with. My portrait from February this year.

Yes, sadly about a month before the Norwich gig. But Steve Hillage put in a sterling performance!

That’s wonderful! All these years later, we’re in the same (virtual) room.
I was just 14, desperate to see a live band and my parents said I could choose from the next shows at St Andrews Hall. I went to Gong as it was a week earlier than some group called Can!

Yes - chuffed with the phone camera that day! it was actually hugely emotional to hear the songs I’d adored for so long performed live. I had tears in my eyes while singing along with ’Curse your mother, blessed mother’!

After decades of waiting, I finally got to see Vic and the Subway Sect on the streets of Somerstown a number of years ago - still stunning! And spotted @birmingham81.bsky.social in the flesh during their set - bonus!
